Japanese Businessmen Will Visit Sakhalin

Sakhalin Energy to build 3rd stage of LNG plant in Sakhalin

Russia's sole liquefied natural gas plant being built as part of the Far East Sakhalin II will increase annual capacity by 7 million metric tons, the regional governor said Thursday.
"The working group of Sakhalin Energy [the project operator] has started to draft a plan to build the plant's third stage," Alexander Khoroshavin said.

Rusal mulls 7 bln usd aluminium plant on Russia’s Sakhalin Island

United Company Rusal may build a 7 bln usd aluminium smelting plant on Russia's Sakhalin island, Interfax reported, citing statements by the regional governor's spokesman at a press briefing.
The proposed plant would have capacity of 750,000 tonnes per year of aluminium and could employ up to 9,000 workers.
