Japanese fishing crew handed over to Japan, skipper remains in Russia

The crew of the Japanese fishing boat, the Zuishe Maru 38, except the skipper, have been turned over to Japanese coastguard officials, spokesman for the Federal Security Service's Sakhalin coast guards Yevgeny Lazarev said.

Ferry link between Sakhalin Island and mainland resumes

The ferry link Vanino-Kholmsk to carry people from Russia's Sakhalin Island to the mainland has resumed its work after heavy storm in the Tatar Strait in the Sea of Japan.
Four diesel ferries build in Russia's westernmost city of Kaliningrad carry up to 100 passengers and 25 cargo railway carriages between Sakhalin and the mainland.
