Gazprom to pay for Sakhalin after production starts

Russia's gas monopoly Gazprom will likely pay for a stake in the Shell-led Sakhalin-2 project only after the start of commercial production, Prime Tass news agency reported on Wednesday.
The agency cited unnamed sources familiar with talks between the two firms.

Russia water use watchdog suspends 111 licenses of oil-gas cos

The Russian Federal Water Resources Agency (Rosvodresursy) in 2006 suspended water use licenses issued to oil and natural gas enterprises, Rosvodresursy head Rustem Khamitov said at a press conference at Itar-Tass. "Forcibly annulled have been 131 licences, including warnings issued on their annulment," the official added.

Sakhalin II operator says Russian regulators disrupting project

Measures by Russian regulators are disrupting work on the vast Sakhalin II oil and gas project in Russia's Far East, the project operator said Wednesday.
Igor Ignatyev, vice president of Shell-controlled Sakhalin Energy, said: "Regulators' actions, which slow down the consideration of documents submitted for coordination, are beginning to affect the project."

Energy minister confirms talks on Gazprom joining Sakhalin II

Gazprom, Shell negotiate Gazprom involvement in Sakhalin-2

Russian Minister of Industry and Energy Viktor Khristenko reaffirmed that the Russian gas giant Gazprom and the Shell Company are negotiating on Gazprom's possible involvement in the Sakhalin-2 project.
